The Resurrection

Today is Veteran’s Day 2013. Thank you to all who have served our Country!

It is also day one of the resurrection of my long-neglected blog. It’s been over four years since I’ve published a post!

I begin again with a renewed sense of purpose. My aim is to inform, entertain and provoke discussion on various aspects of my life which, I have learned, is not so very different from most. Many of us continue to spin our wheels in life, struggle for traction and never really grasp the purpose of it all.

To begin with, a lot of ‘stuff’ happens in four years! As my bio says, I moved out west (to the state of Idaho) from my home state of New York. The move took place at the end of June, 2011 and the ‘why’ will be explained as we proceed...not to mention, the ‘how’!

I WILL be talking about cats...(I can already hear a lot of you saying, “Not another cat lady!”) The fact is that ever since I moved here, cats have taken over my life! Some of these stories are worth telling. I also have strong feelings in favor of responsible pet ownership and spay/neuter programs.

I got remarried on the 7th of September, 2012. On account of that, I will be discussing relationships (of the heterosexual type mostly as my experience in the homosexual variation is rather limited). I do, however, support homosexuality and feel strongly about equality.

Almost 2 years ago, I discovered the movie, THE SECRET by Rhonda Byrne. As a result, and for about a year and a half, I have been a student of self-development.  It is my hope that readers will see something here that they like or that piques their interest and they will move on to a real expert in the field. If that happens to you, be my guest...but try to come back now and then to ‘catch up’ on what’s happening here! J

I remain, as always, somewhat obsessed by the weather and will continue to observe and encourage your observation as well. There is not much in this natural world that is not, in some way, affected by the weather. I will be comparing the vast difference between the weather of the East coast to the High Desert of the West. At the time of this writing, one of the worst storms ever to have hit our globe since we began recording storms, has devastated the Philippines only two days ago. I will be keeping a watch out for the reports on that, for sure!

It is my intention to provide links to other sites of interest and inspiration in order to assist you in whatever your pursuits may be. It is quite possible that if you click on a link that I provide, I may be compensated for you doing so but my main goal is to provide information to the public at large.

A very close secondary purpose for this blog is for my own personal need for connection. Most of my days are spent ‘home alone’ with only my cats for communication! Now, don’t get me wrong...cats are very communicative, but sometimes it’s real nice to be able to carry on a conversation with a member of your own species! So please, leave a comment, say 'hello' or even 'lay on' your criticisms...it's all good!

I do not have a job (or J.O.B. – meaning ‘just over broke’) because I have some physical limitations that prohibit getting hired and making an employer happy. I am currently in the long process of making a claim for Social Security Disability and I will most definitely devote some posts to my situation in that regard. In the past I would have said, “Misery loves company!” but now I understand that misery is, not only NOT good company, but is something we don’t want to spend a lot of time or effort entertaining! We do, however, sometimes need to compare notes and give encouragement.

In view of the various aspects of my life as it exists today, I hope to have lots to talk about in the days to come. I hope to welcome some interested readers and make new friends!

Here’s to new beginnings!

Warmly,

Cindy Hurd
