Gratitude

“You simply will not be the same person two months from now after consciously giving thanks each day for the abundance that exists in your life. And you will have set in motion an ancient spiritual law: the more you have and are grateful for, the more will be given you.”
~Sarah Ban Breathnack

Every day I pick up and save quotes that I receive from various email-ings I subscribe to and this is a great one. I had to look up who Sarah is and found a couple of interesting facts. The first one is how to pronounce her name! J

Sarah Ban Breathnach: Bon Brannock...Wow! I’d never have gotten this on my own! I found it on a site called Book Browse. And here is a link to a short You Tube video I found to further help you in getting to know her: http://youtu.be/mcS5bgavhxE

It’s sort of fitting this time of year when everyone is thinking about Thanksgiving and all they have to be thankful for to talk about gratitude. The truth is, though, that we need to make a DAILY practice of having an ‘attitude of gratitude’. Even when you feel as though there is ‘lack’ in your life (in fact, especially then), you need to focus intently on what is good in your life. Bob Proctor advises that you adopt his practice of writing down 10 things that you are grateful for every morning before doing anything else! (I usually can’t hold anything in my hands for quite a while after waking, so I just mentally think of my grateful list. J)

For example, every day when I wake up, I find that I am in a bed and it’s a rather comfortable one. Instead of feeling irritable because I have to leave it, I am now adopting an attitude of gratitude that I am fortunate enough to have such a place of comfort to sleep. It sure beats a refrigerator box! It’s the little things that count and that we so regularly take for granted.

From what I've learned and experienced so far in my studies, it takes 21 days to change a habit or to create a new habit. So, two months would really solidify this new habit of being grateful.

The real ‘key’ is in acknowledging the abundance in and of the Universe because when we look at life through the concept of abundance, rather than lack, we fill our lives with the abundance that we see. We actually do attract into our lives, through a higher level of vibration, that which we feel in our hearts, souls or thoughts.

We get to choose how we want to see our Universe so why not choose abundance? It just FEELS better!

Have an abundant Life!
