Recently I was reminded, in an email, that the year is quickly
coming to a close. It was not meant to be a scary reminder but rather a
friendly reminder to reflect back on where I was in January of this year and to
ask how my achievements had proceeded. The suggestion was to ‘look back’ and
feel some appreciation for anything that may have caused happiness, growth or
more awareness in my development. It was also suggested that we make a ‘Top
Five’ list of appreciations. Well, I’ve gotta tell ya...I dove right into that
assignment because I have a lot of things to appreciate this year!
Number one on the list is that I sold my house in New York!
This time last year I was afraid I’d never
sell it and worried about how I would ever keep up on the bills to maintain it
without an income. Most of you will not believe me when I say that I ‘manifested’
the buyers for my home (but it is so very true and a story for another time),
which brings me to the second most awesome thing I discovered this year.
I learned to meditate. This can be done in many ways but no
matter how it’s done, it is highly recommended! I’m still a newbie at it, but I’ve
already had some marvelous results...even aside from selling my house.
Thirdly, I finally made it to California! This is something I
thought would never happen when I lived in New York. I thought I might after I
moved to Idaho but didn’t know how or when. Then I received this invitation to
attend a live seminar in March near Los Angeles. The really phenomenal thing
about this invitation was that I had just finished telling my husband a few
days earlier that one day I would meet Bob Proctor in person...I just knew I
would. And that brings me to number four.
At the seminar called “Making A Million Look Small” I met my current
hero-figure, Bob Proctor! I also met Mary Morrissey, Peggy McColl and Gay
Hendricks. These are all high-profile self-development gurus, authors and
teachers. The energy at this two and a half day seminar was electric and
exactly what I needed, not only to get me through the month of March, but to
jump start my whole attitude about my life in general.
One of the first things I wanted when I got moved in to this
house of my husband’s was a door off my office directly into the back yard.
This would enable me to go outside without having to worry about neighbors
seeing me in my bathrobe or anything else that might not be precisely
appropriate for public attire. It also would give me more immediate access to
the cats rather than having to walk around half the house first. My husband’s
first answer to my desire to have a back door was, “Over my dead body!” He had
some other negative things to add too, by the way. I just very calmly informed him
that there WOULD be a back door as
soon as I had the money to get it done. Well, two and a half years later, my
back door has just been installed this month and I have a nice little 8x10 deck
with 3 sets of steps. To top off all of that, I also had a very nice big
barn-like shed built for my extra possessions as well. (Don’t tell me I can’t!)
LOL.
I am also very appreciative of my new and active blog, my new
FB page and being the owner of two dot coms!
I have been introduced to a whole new genre of books, audios,
programs and people that I can communicate with via email, phone and webinar
format. It’s a wonderful new world and it beats the heck out of feeling alone,
which is very much how I did feel about a year ago.
I joined the Bob Proctor Coaching Program around late spring
of this year. One of Bob’s favorite phrases goes like this, “A year from now
you’ll need a telescope to look back on your life today!” Now I know he is
absolutely right!
There are still many days when I feel the old ‘drudge’ attitude
trying to settle back in when I can only focus on everything that I DON’T have
done yet. It’s really nice when someone reminds you of all that you HAVE DONE!
So, hopefully, I can provide that kind of friendly reminder to
you and you will look back on all that has come into your life this year that
you can feel appreciation for and get a top 5 list going (or maybe even 10)! J
Here’s to your ‘HAVE DONE’ list!
