I am posting a link so anyone who's interested can check out the AccuWeather site I found today. I was interested in finding out just how many inches it rained here yesterday. I had estimated about 1 inch and I was only off by .1...yeah, it's been a little wet! http://www.accuweather.com/us-city-list.asp?partner=accuweather&zipcode=
Well, I've been doing a lot of extraneous stuff over the past couple of weeks and have not visited my own blog in all of that time...tsk, tsk. But I have begun to implement a new exercise program by joining a gym (Planet Fitness) (plug :-). Last week I started my first week of actual weight training as prescribed by the trainer. I am sore and achy all over so I know I've done a good job! My purpose for beginning this endeavor is two-fold. First I am aiming to improve my physical strength and secondly, I am convinced that I will gain an overall positive mental outlook. So far, I do believe that the mental part of it is working, at least.
I started crocheting a doily and made considerable progress with that so far. It should be ready for the Harford Fair in time for this year's entry. Since it's been several months since I did any creative stitching at all, I feel really good about launching into this small project. I'll be posting a picture of it when I'm finished for all to see.
In between times, I've managed to get some weeding done around the place. I've discovered that as long as it's going to keep raining, I might as well weed in it since that's when the weeding is the easiest. My son called my work a 'reclamation project' since one particular area had not been weeded in two years!
I've bought several plants I still have not managed to get into the ground but any day now, that will happen! I was keeping up real well with the grass cutting up until last weekend. Then the rain started and there has scarcely been a day without rain since. Now it's back up to shin high again.
I've done so much laundry in the past two weeks that it's a wonder my septic system is not backing up...but I have a very good friend who could help me in the event that should take place so I'm not worried about that! Right, Bill? I am excited about getting the laundry done, though, because I've begun working on the build up of animal blankets that have piled up behind the house, in it's own special corner, all winter long!
Carib, my gorgeous Applehead Sealpoint Siamese cat disappeared for about a week and finally came back Thursday night! Of course, he's all nervous and wild again but from now on, the back door from the laundry room will be closed at night and he's in the house for the duration now. Thanks to a screen door that is dated from about the 1960's and does not close all the way or stay closed at all, Carib just walks out anytime the main door isn't closed properly. No More.
On the job front, things are still looking very lean and unemployment is running out for sure so I may have to be forced into doing something that I have not had to do since I was a teenager...God please save me from the fast food joints! Not losing hope, though, and my outlook at my predicament is a far better one than it was six months ago.
So, that's the scoop for the time being. Everyday brings something new, something old, but there's always something!
